DR. SONALI SHETH DR. SONALI SHETH JOINS MENTAL HEALTH COOPERATIVE AS CHILD PSYCHIATRIST

The Mental Health Cooperative has announced the addition of Sonali Sheth, M.D. to its child psychiatry team. She will be charged with further development and supervision of the child and family program in addition to seeing children with serious emotional disorders. Dr. Sheth joins MHC in partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Sheth was raised in Nashville, Tennessee where she attended Metropolitan Public Schools. She received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. She completed her general psychiatry residency and child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

“We are absolutely delighted to have a child psychiatrist on board who is from the Nashville area, who understands the unique needs of the children and families in our community and is ideally suited to provide outstanding leadership to our children’s program,” stated Pam Womack, MHC Chief Executive Officer. “Dr. Sheth is obviously highly qualified and her warm and friendly personality will endear her to everyone she comes in contact with.”

“We are excited to have Dr. Sheth join the Vanderbilt Department of Psychiatry in this new joint partnership with the Mental Health Cooperative. She will provide services to the children in the community and also provide opportunities for collaboration in research on severe childhood psychiatric disorders” stated Catherine Fuchs, MD, Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Vanderbilt University.

The Mental Health Cooperative is a progressive mental health agency that incorporates evidence based intensive case management, psychiatric clinic and 24-hour emergency services into an integrated system of care. The agency is located in Metro Center and serves children, adults and families.
